Well here you are! There are a lot of paintings for sale on this site so it impresses me you would rather read this instead of looking at them. If you're wondering why we have this large group of text on this page here is why.
We want people to find us on Google, in order to do that we need to list as many key-words like “surf art”, “paintings” “art for sale”, "surfing t shirts", and "funny t shirts" as we can. If text seems a bit odd on this site, with certain terms being repeated, now you know why. Please enjoy my sucking up to Google.
First off, The Define Art and it’s children soon to be born, Define Surf Clothing Co. and Define Surf Art are art driven sites and clothing lines born in Orange County. I decided one day that I would start a company and website to promote and sell “surf art” “surf photography” and now currently "surfing apparel". As I promoted my work people would ask me are you going to turn some of your art into “surf art”, "cool t shirts", "retro t shirts", and "Trucker Hats"? I decided to call my new company Define Surf. As most “surf art” painters were creating “surf art” based off of cartoony "same as everyone elses art", I went the other direction. I wanted “surf art” that was based off of fine art. Looking to do some things that no one else was doing. That is what you will find. Cezanne meets Pollack meets Nathan Gibbs. Anyway, eventually I went for surfing apparel built around my artistic designs and witty “surf art” slang, and hoped to make "surfing clothes". After shopping and seeing the same thing from most of the major surf brands I wanted to make "t shirt designs" with cool "surf art" and t shirts that make you think. I think that I create some seriously "cool t shirts".
Define Art, and Define Surf’s clothing caters to artists, surfers, creative minds, and really cool people. Some might be considered "funny t shirts". You might consider "surfing t shirts"to be cliche, but I think they are a representation of all aspects of life. Some of the selections of "surf art t shirts" are made from paintings of mine. Other “surf art” shirts are made with more of a “graphic design” standpoint.
Not all art on Define Art is surf related, sometimes the artists make surf art sometimes not. If I decide to put non “surf art” paintings onto t shirts then I call those "art t shirts". Ok, thanks for reading this pitch to the almighty search engine, and thanks to Google for leading all of the people who want cool, funny, retro, novelty, surfing and art related t shirts, art, photographs, and sculpture to our website.

Here is what we are about. This site was created with a vision in mind. We like art of all kinds. "Surf Art", "expressionism", "ocean paintings", "carved wood", surf photography, "abstract art" and any art that you can find the definition of. As the site grows we are starting to develop areas for videos of artists creating "surf art" or any of the other mediums. If you are a surf artist or someone who has a unique style of photography, mixed media, assemblages, or any other art, submit a piece of art with a definition of why and how you created it. We would love to have you.
Now you can even shop and support Define Art at our store. -and- Place comments for the artists at our forums.-and-
In the near future we will have a section where you can find the definition of any art term you are looking for. See videos of artists working, hear podcasts from artists, interviews, and more. So even though we have a lot of "surf art" and most of my art is "surf art", you can find much more, and if you can't, let me know and I will find it for you. -Nathan Gibbs, Founder
